Recently, we sent Duluth Moms Blog writer Gina to our local Maurices to shop for holiday goodies for some of her favorite women on her gift giving list. We know you’ve got a few of them on your list, too–the teacher who always goes above and beyond, the babysitter who’s (thankfully) always available, the best friend who answers all your texts with the funniest GIFs, and your mom who has boundless love for you and your kiddos. They deserve to be treated to some extra special gifts this year because you know how giving they are all year round. ONE. Say Thanks to Your Favorite Teacher
For my kid’s favorite teacher of all time, I picked out a Have a Cup of Cheer mug in buffalo plaid (seriously, I can’t say no to the buffalo print) and a trinket tray with faux antlers that made me smile. I finished it off with a super comfortable, black braided bracelet for a little holiday sparkle and I’ll throw in some hot chocolate or a bag of coffee for good measure. She’s going to love it.
TWO. Bah Humbug
One my neighbors watches my kids for me at the last minute whenever I call so I wanted to get her something nice to say thank you. She has the most hilarious sense of humor and this ultra soft BAH HUMBUG sweatshirt just screamed her name. I also grabbed a pair of textured fleece lined leggings that can be worn as PJs or out on the town (yes, leggings are indeed pants!), a cable knit hat with pompom in citrine, and a ornament of my kid playing hockey for good measure. She’s going to be tickled by the treats and I’m going to love making her day.
THREE. Black and White Forever
For my assistant, I immediately grabbed this thick infinity scarf with fringe. I love the texture and I know it’s going to be adorable over her black winter coat. She also got a chunky magnetic bracelet with snake skin… she’s spunky and I know she can pull off a little arm candy this season. To finish it off, I grabbed this plaid wallet with phone pocket so she doesn’t have to dig to the bottom of her purse to find her phone. I also made her a cute little brave roller with my favorite essential oils.
FOUR. Rose Gold Dreams
I’m drawn to almost anything rose gold so when I saw this sparkly, braided rose gold bracelet, I snatched it up built the rest of my gift around it. The ribbed hat in Pink Ash was the next thing I grabbed; I love the two-toned pompom! I simply couldn’t pass up this lace and leopard infinity scarf because the contrast is adorable and it’s lightweight enough to wear inside or outside. I topped it all off with some rose gold tassel earrings, a dream catcher ornament, and the cutest rose gold tree cookie cutter that you ever did see. I’m certain my BFF is going to love it all.
FIVE. The Weekender Bag
This buffalo plaid weekender bag had me all starry eyed when I spied it in the display in the window at the store. I could only find the red version on the shelf so I asked if I could steal the one from the display. To my delight, they let me. This bag is BIG. It is comfortable to wear as a tote clipped down to the smaller size and is ENORMOUS when unclipped and worn as a messenger. It’s a perfect overnight bag and I’m certain my mom will use it as she’s traveling all over the state to watch the grandkids play hockey this winter. I may have also bought one for myself. Who says I can’t buy myself a Christmas present?
